Our menu comprises Light Lunches - sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, soup, omelettes, - all accompanied by a variety of salads according to what is in season, homemade coleslaw and Fiddlers crisps.
We bake our own ham for lunch using our own award winning marmalade and make our own bread, cakes and scones here in the kitchen using organic flour from Shipton Mill, eggs are from Middle Holly Bungalow just down the lane; local milk and cream is delivered by Stephensons Dairy. We purchase our ham from Anderton's of Longridge and of course we serve a multitude of award winning Dewlay of Garstang cheeses. Our cake menu varies from week to week, no fear of repetition and the same cakes every week!
We also serve Cream Teas with homemade preserves and Rhodda's clotted cream; our own interpretation of High Tea and our speciality Middle Holly Afternoon Tea which showcases the variety of our homemade produce. We offer a specially themed Afternoon Tea from time to time. Cakes for our Afternoon Teas are not just slices of cake from our cake cabinet, but a mixture of specially made mini cakes, meringues, tarts and desserts for your occasion. These vary from week to week according to what pops into Gill's head, to what is in season and what she feels like baking! When you telephone to book we will ask you about preferred sandwich fillings, scone varieties and any dietary requirements. If you aren't able to give us notice please ask, but please understand if it isn't possible as we really do want to produce our very best food for you.
All our special traditional Afternoon Teas are served on vintage china tiered cake stands, with china tea pots, speciality loose leaf teas from Lottie's Teas (Botany Bay) and vintage china cups and saucers.
We would be delighted to welcome you to Middle Holly Cottage and you are most welcome to join us here whether it be for just a pot of tea for one, lunch or the full works! Each and every guest receives the same warm welcome from Gill and the team in the kitchen.
Gift vouchers are available in denominations of £5.00, £10.00 and specifically for Afternoon Tea. As we are small, we recommend that you pre-book your Afternoon Tea at least 24 hours in advance, we would hate for you to be disappointed!

Absolutely amazing. Quality fresh ingredients, everything homemade - even the jam and beautifully presented. Best afternoon tea I've ever had and I've been to The Ritz! Just off the A6, well worth a visit.
“BEST AFTERNOON TEA EVER!--DONT DRIVE PAST”
Reviewed July 2016
We booked Afternoon Tea for the Two of us. It was a lovely sunny day, and we were both amazed as we entered, how beautiful the setting was, it was like going back in time.
We went through to the second dining room, passing the delicious homemade cakes, and preserves etc.Jill the owner welcomed us, (Sorry can not remember the other nice lady ).
We were served with a potato and leek soup with lavender, in a shot glass(our first course) it was absolutely delicious .I had tea and it came in a vintage china teapot, and Hubby had a cafetiere of coffee. China teacups and saucers/plates etc. Then we couldn't believe it-a 3 tiered cake stand,-FULL dainty sandwiches, with the crusts cut off and served as they should be --in triangles. We were almost full when we had finished these. A gorgeous fruit and double cream offering and served in pretty china cups, decorated with edible flowers and homemade shortbread. Two of the most tantalising pieces of cake, one was of white chocolate etc. (cant remember what else!)and the other an orange and --- with fresh cream(I am having senior moments!! cant remember the rest!)We had to bring these home, as we also had to come, the most delicious Scones (thought mine were the best up to eating these!) served with clotted cream, and homemade jam, which we both chose from a list. We both were so full, after eating all this.
Everything is Homemade, the Bread/Jams/Cakes etc. etc. We were given a Loyalty card, and we will DEFINITELY be going again. We will try the High Tea next.
The choice of award winning Jams to buy and take home are amazing, I chose Ginger and Pear,(this time).
If only we had discovered Middle Holly Cottage sooner. Don't wait until a Special occasion--just pop in and have a Tea or Coffee---and definitely a Cake or Scone.
You will love it.
I can honestly say that compared to Claridges in London, where I went with my 2 Daughters, for Afternoon Tea-- I enjoyed this better.
It makes us regret getting rid of all our best china and Teapot collection---Ah Well.
